Judge Eric Tostrud issued his swift ruling after Minnesota state officials filed a lawsuit against Homeland Security officials and other Trump-controlled agencies seeking a temporary restraining order to stop the possible destruction of evidence by federal officials.
The order covers any “evidence that Defendants and those working on their behalf removed from the scene and/or evidence that Defendants have taken into their exclusive custody.”
The suit alleges that evidence was removed from the scene of Pretti’s killing and states that “Plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm to their ability to investigate and enforce state criminal laws and protect the people of Minnesota” unless they are granted legal relief on this issue.
“Our office has jurisdiction to review this matter for potential criminal conduct by the federal agents involved and we will do so,” stated Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty. Her office is listed as one of the plaintiffs.
Given the blatant lawlessness of this White House, this ruling was absolutely necessary. Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem have already rushed to shamelessly smear Pretti by calling him a “terrorist” and falsely claiming that he was planning to “massacre” law enforcement.
These MAGA monsters lie as easily as they breathe and will do anything to ensure that their masked enforcers are free to continue their killing. They would not hesitate to tamper with or destroy evidence if they thought there was a political benefit to be gained. They have no allegiance to the law, truth, or basic morality. They care only about their own power — which is why they must be removed from office, prosecuted, and held accountable for their crimes.
