A brutal and disturbing case has rocked the international community, leaving a trail of questions and a family shattered by loss.
In a shocking turn of events, the body parts of 28-year-old Ukrainian tourist Igor Komarov were discovered in Bali after a horrifying chain of events unfolded.
What began as a seemingly normal vacation quickly turned into a nightmare for Komarov and his family.
Komarov, who was on holiday in Bali with his girlfriend, Yea Mishalova, found himself the victim of a violent kidnapping by a group of men who allegedly had a sinister connection to his father’s past.

THE KIDNAPPING:

The assailants managed to overpower Komarov and whisk him away to a luxury villa located on Bali’s mid-west coast, in Tabanan.
His girlfriend, Yea Mishalova, a popular social media influencer, had no idea of the danger that was about to unfold.
Little did she know that a single photo, shared on her Snapchat just days earlier, would inadvertently reveal Komarov’s location to his abductors.
A photo of Mishalova and Komarov posted on Valentine’s Day, with a cheeky message reading “F—k 14 February, love you everyday,” might have given the criminals the clue they needed.
This single post may have triggered the events that led to Komarov’s horrific fate, as the kidnappers targeted him to settle a past debt.
The perpetrators of this gruesome crime were allegedly members of a Ukrainian crime syndicate, which had a longstanding grudge with Komarov’s father, Oleksandr “Narik” Petrovsky.
Petrovsky, a powerful and polarizing figure in Ukraine, had reportedly stolen $10 million from the crime syndicate, and it is believed that the kidnapping was a desperate attempt to reclaim the stolen funds.
THE VIDEO:
While Komarov was held captive, investigators were able to recover a grainy video, which appeared to be Komarov pleading for his life.
The video, first released on the Telegram channel MASH, showed Komarov with visible injuries, including two black eyes and bruising on his body.
In the video, Komarov, speaking under duress, begged his father to pay the kidnappers $10 million in ransom money.
“Mummy, Daddy, I beg you, help me please,” Komarov said in the heartbreaking clip.
He continued, explaining how the abductors had tortured him and caused severe physical injuries.
“I have broken legs, they punched my rib cage,” he said, lifting his bandaged and bloodied left hand, showing what appeared to be a severed stump.
The pain and desperation in Komarov’s voice were gut-wrenching, as he pleaded for help.
His cries continued, urging his father to pay the ransom to save his life.
“I’m just dying,” Komarov said in his three-minute plea, adding, “Please help me, please settle with these people.”

THE DISCOVERY OF THE BODY PARTS:
On February 27, 2026, the investigation took a horrific turn when authorities discovered severed human body parts in the Wos River, located on Bali’s lower east coast, approximately 19 miles from the villa where Komarov had been held.
The gruesome discovery included a severed head, a right leg, upper chest sections, thighs, and internal organs.
At first, authorities were unable to definitively confirm the identity of the body parts, as the victim’s remains had undergone significant decomposition.
However, forensic experts were able to analyze the evidence and noted that the body parts had likely been from a man who had died approximately three days before the discovery.
The police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, emphasized that DNA testing was underway to confirm the identity of the remains.
“We cannot speculate,” Ariasandy said, “All possibilities are being investigated, but conclusions must be based on scientific investigation and forensic results.”
