The View<\/span>\u00a0was accused of hypocrisy after co-hosts delivered impassioned warnings about political violence in the wake of the\u00a0White House<\/span>\u00a0Correspondents\u2019 Dinner.<\/p>\n

The daytime panel condemned the thwarted assassination, but within hours social media was flooded with a torrent of criticism from viewers who claimed The View was \u2018part of the problem.\u2019<\/p>\n

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin began the\u00a0dramatic on-air discussion\u00a0with a stark account of the chaos.<\/p>\n

\u2018So first and foremost God bless law enforcement, secret service, D.C. Metro police. They acted swiftly and they neutralized the threat,\u2019 Griffin said, emphasizing how quickly the situation was contained before the gunman could reach the crowded ballroom.<\/p>\n

She warned the outcome could have been catastrophic: \u2018If Secret Service had not jumped in this could have been a mass casualty event.\u2019<\/p>\n

Griffin described the terrifying uncertainty inside the venue, revealing she had been texting loved ones as the situation unfolded.<\/p>\n

\u2018We have a problem with political violence in this country\u2026 People are becoming desensitized to this,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

Co-host Ana Navarro echoed the alarm, recounting how veteran journalist Wolf Blitzer described the moment he was \u2018three or four feet away from the shooter\u2019 and \u2018got tackled down.\u2019<\/p>\n

Navarro added that what troubled her most was the public\u2019s reaction.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump was inside the Hilton ballroom with hundreds of guests, including Melania Trump and JD Vance, when gunshots erupted and Secret Service agents rushed him from the venue<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u2018A good chunk of the country thinks this was staged,\u2019 Navarro said, contrasting that response with the unity that followed the 1981 assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan.<\/p>\n

\u2018Where are we in America when Reagan was shot in 1981, nobody would have thought about that. I think people have to take stock of the level of influence that misinformation that the lies have had on the American psyche.\u2019<\/p>\n

Navarro then sharply criticized President Donald Trump, claiming that instead of calling for unity, he and his allies used the incident to push for\u00a0the building of the new White House ballroom.<\/p>\n

\u2018You know, it\u2019s crazy to me that one of the first things Trump did\u2026 was go push for a ballroom,\u2019 she said, arguing that safety concerns should extend beyond political elites.<\/p>\n

Co-host Sunny Hostin went further, calling the incident an \u2018inflection point\u2019 highlighting the scale of the threat.<\/p>\n

\u2018We should all be outraged that someone tried to allegedly kill the president of the United States and members of his cabinet,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

Hostin detailed how the suspect allegedly traveled across the country armed with multiple weapons.<\/p>\n

\u2018This guy got on a train\u00a0with firearms\u2026 was able to travel from California to Washington, D.C\u2026 and move about so easily with loaded weapons,\u2019 she warned, tying the incident to broader calls for gun control.<\/p>\n
