On Saturday, March 7, the second day of the Kubota PBR Unleash The Beast in Little Rock, Arkansas, one of the most popular bulls in professional bull riding was injured.<\/p>\n
Man Hater, owned by Jane Clark and the late Gene Owen, was transported out of the arena after suffering an injury to his back left leg.\u00a0According to Rodeo Roundtable, this injury was sustained in the first six seconds of PBR rider Brady Fielder\u2019s ride and was attributed to a misstep.<\/p>\n
\u201cI knew something was wrong, because he went from bucking so hard to just stopping,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Fielder said, as quoted in\u00a0Man Hater\u2019s obituary.\u00a0\u201cAs soon as he went down, I could feel it on his back. I could feel it clear as day.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Taken to Oklahoma State University for evaluation, it\u00a0was reported\u00a0that Man Hater\u2019s injury \u2014 identified as a high right hind fracture \u2014 was too severe, so the bull was euthanized.<\/p>\n Last year, Man Hater won the YETI World Champion Bull title for the second year in a row, having previously won in 2024. The bull was\u00a0ranked No. 9 in the world, boasting an 85% buckoff rate with a buckoff streak of five.<\/p>\n According to the\u00a0obituary for Man Hater\u2019s late owner, Gene Owen, who died in 2025,\u00a0\u201c[Man Hater] helped redefine unrideable and brought record breaking scores along with it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n For Fielder, who was Man Hater\u2019s final rider, the bull brought about a couple career highlights, as Fielder successfully rode him twice.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s everything I would want in a bucking bull,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Fielder recalled.\u00a0\u201cThere\u2019s nothing bad about him\u2026 there\u2019s no better feeling bull that I\u2019ve ever been on.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n See Man Hater\u2019s final ride, which begins about 40 seconds into this clip, and pay special attention to his back right leg, here:<\/p>\n
