A US service member died after sustaining injuries during an attack last week in Saudi Arabia, the military said Sunday, bringing the number of American troops killed in\u00a0the Iran war\u00a0to seven.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night, a U.S. service member passed away from injuries received during the Iranian regime\u2019s initial attacks across the Middle East,\u201d US Central Command\u00a0said on X. \u201cThe service member was seriously wounded at the scene of an attack on U.S. troops in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on March 1.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"West<\/p>\n

The name of the service member is being withheld until 24 hours after their family is notified, as is custom.<\/p>\n

The news of the fallen service member comes a day after the\u00a0dignified transfer\u00a0for the\u00a0six soldiers\u00a0who were killed last week in Kuwait. President Donald Trump and other top officials joined the families of those troops at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware as the soldiers were brought home.<\/p>\n

That strike, which\u00a0came without warning, occurred on a makeshift operations center at the civilian port of Shuaiba in Kuwait on March 1. All six soldiers were assigned with the 103rd Sustainment Command, an Army Reserve unit out of Iowa.<\/p>\n

The president told ABC on Sunday that meeting with the families of the six troops did not give him pause about the war.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe parents would be upset if I did that,\u201d he said. \u201cThe parents said to me, every one of them, \u2018Please sir, win this for my boy,\u2019 and in one case a young woman, as you know. \u2018Please, win this for my child.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Pentagon<\/p>\n

The president has previously said there will likely be more US casualties in the Iran war. Asked Saturday whether he thought he would have to attend more dignified transfers, Trump said, \u201cI\u2019m sure. I hate to \u2026 but it\u2019s a part of war.\u201d<\/p>\n

CENTCOM also announced Sunday in a separate social media\u00a0post\u00a0that a US National Guard soldier died in a \u201chealth-related incident in Kuwait on March 6 during a medical emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maj. Sorffly Davius, 46, of Queens, New York, died at Camp Buehring, the Pentagon said. The incident is under investigation. Davius was a New York City police officer since 2014, the department said.<\/p>\n
