and tried to reassure his family back home \u2013 only hours before his death.<\/p>\n<p>Declan Coady, 20, spoke to his brother, who was stationed in Italy, just hours before a command center was hit by an Iranian drone Sunday, his dad Andrew\u00a0told CBS News\u00a0on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased off timing, and what we know so far, and we don\u2019t know specifics but we are making an assumption based off of timing, it was shortly after that phone call that this happened, and his operation center got hit,\u201d the devastated dad said.<\/p>\n<figure don\u2019t worry about me, and so forth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coady\u2019s heartbroken sister, Keira, said she feared the worst when her family didn\u2019t hear from the soldier.\u00a0He had still been messaging his family during Iran\u2019s retaliatory attacks to \u201cOperation Epic Fury.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter trying to check in, we heard nothing,\u201d she\u00a0told ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrying to be positive we all assumed he was just in a situation where he couldn\u2019t message back, but we all knew something was wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andrew told the Associated
