Khimberly Zavaleta, a bright and promising young girl, was attacked while trying to protect her older sister, according to her mother, Elma Chuquipa.<\/p>\n

The heart-wrenching incident occurred on Thursday, February 19, and after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage, Khimberly died on Wednesday, February 25, just days later.<\/p>\n

The altercation took place around dismissal time in a school hallway, where tensions had been rising.<\/p>\n

According to her mother, a tall student approached Khimberly\u2019s older sister and began pushing her.<\/p>\n

Khimberly, with her protective instincts, stepped in to defend her sister, even suggesting that they go to the principal\u2019s office to resolve the situation peacefully.<\/p>\n

But the situation quickly spiraled out of control.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter tried to pull them apart so they wouldn\u2019t hit her sister, and that\u2019s when she was struck in the head,\u201d her mother said, tears evident in her voice.<\/p>\n

Amid the chaos of the fight, someone allegedly threw a metal water bottle, hitting Khimberly directly in the head.<\/p>\n

Reports have indicated that video footage of the incident does not clearly capture the exact moment the bottle was thrown, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the tragic event.<\/p>\n

Initially, Khimberly was rushed to the emergency room, where she seemed stable, and her family hoped that she would recover.<\/p>\n

However, in the following days, Khimberly began to experience severe headaches.<\/p>\n

Concerned, she returned to the hospital, but was reportedly sent home once again, as doctors did not anticipate the severity of her condition.<\/p>\n

Just days later, Khimberly collapsed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe rushed her to the emergency room, and she arrived without vital signs,\u201d her mother said, her voice breaking with grief.<\/p>\n

Doctors discovered a severe brain hemorrhage, a result of the blow to her head.<\/p>\n

At 3:30 a.m., Khimberly was pronounced dead, and the devastating news shattered her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was very painful to leave my daughter in the hospital hoping to bring her back home,\u201d her mother said, the pain of the loss weighing heavily on her words.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe always told me, \u2018I will never leave you.\u2019 And I told her, \u2018You promised you would never leave me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Khimberly\u2019s family remembers her as \u201cthe baby of the family,\u201d a loving and energetic young girl who had so much more to give.<\/p>\n
