Actor Kim Soohyun’s Japanese fandom has expressed their support for his return by publishing a full-page newspaper advertisement.
The ad, which appeared on the front page of The Chosun Ilbo on the 31st, is written in the form of an open letter titled “To Everyone in Korea” and was composed on behalf of the “Joint Fandom Team Supporting Actor Kim Soohyun from Japan.”
The group stated that they have supported Kim Soohyun for over 14 years since the establishment of his Japanese fan club in 2013 and wanted to convey this unwavering devotion to Korean fans.

The Japanese fandom said, “Kim Soohyun has never once betrayed our expectations. He has always performed his roles with sincerity and excellence,” adding, “Kim Soohyun, who walks the path of a respected actor even in Japan, is honest and has never lied.”
They continued, “He has endured a harsh situation that would break most people, holding on for more than half a year and striving to prove his innocence. We sincerely wish that Kim Soohyun, the one and only actor beloved by us and recognized by the world, will soon be able to return to acting in Korea. We also hope that Korean fans will understand our heartfelt feelings and continue to support him.”
The controversy surrounding Kim Soohyun began when the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Saeron claimed through the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute on March 10, about a month after her passing, that Kim Soohyun, who was in his late 20s at the time, had dated her for six years starting when she was 15.
In response, Kim Soohyun’s side stated, “They only dated for about a year when she was already an adult, and there was never any relationship during her minor years,” and filed a 12 billion won (approx.) damages lawsuit against Gaseyeon CEO Kim Seui and the bereaved family, among other legal actions.
